Andrew Lloyd Webber

I love musicals and my love of musicals began with the work of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Webber is much maligned by people the avant garde and I can’t really understand such judgement.

I absolutely love his Requiem !

  1. I love musicals too, but my love did not start with Andrew Lloyd Webber. I first saw musicals in elementary school. But it was Wicked, which I first saw at the age of 12 on Broadway. That really was the beginning for me. Later on, Les Mis would turn that love into a passion. Other musicals I love are Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, Music Man, Sound of Music, Annie, Rent, and South Pacific. Acting, Singing, Dancing are a wonderful way to tell a story. Songs and dance add something special to the plot. The range of emotions is wonderful.

    1. All great musicals Adventuregirl ! It think once you’ve enjoyed one it becomes contagious. You should also check out the work of Stephen Sondheim – his are probably my all time favourite and Sunset Boulevard.

I enjoyed the Wicked book – though quite a departure from Oz but missed out on the musical. Lucky you ! 😉
